We take accuracy seriously
Rhode Island regulations, fees, office hours, and local information change frequently. Despite our best efforts to keep content current, errors can occur. We believe it's important to correct them openly and promptly.
How to report an error
If you spot a factual error, outdated information, a broken link, or anything that doesn't look right, please let us know:
Report a correction
- 📧 Email: corrections@askrhodeisland.com
- 📝 Contact form: askrhodeisland.com/contact
Please include the article URL, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and the source or reason you believe it needs updating.
What we do when we receive a correction
- We review every reported correction — usually within 1–3 business days.
- We verify the reported error against official sources (ri.gov, dmv.ri.gov, and other authoritative references).
- If the error is confirmed, we update the article immediately.
- We update the “Last updated” date on the corrected article.
- For significant factual errors, we add a visible correction notice at the top of the article.
- We respond to the person who reported the correction to confirm what was done.
What counts as a correctable error
- Incorrect fees, costs, or dollar amounts
- Outdated laws, regulations, or requirements
- Wrong phone numbers, addresses, or office hours
- Broken or incorrect links to official sources
- Factual claims that are clearly wrong or misleading
- Outdated dates or deadlines
Matters of opinion, editorial judgment, or writing style are not subject to this corrections process, though we welcome all constructive feedback.
Our commitment
We will never quietly delete or hide corrections. When we fix a significant error, we document it. Accuracy is the foundation of reader trust, and we treat it accordingly.
