We collect information in three ways: • Information you provide: email address when subscribing to our newsletter, name and message when using our contact form, and questions submitted through the Ask a Question page. • Automatic data: pages visited, time on site, browser type, and approximate location via Google Analytics. • Cookies: small text files stored by your browser for analytics, advertising, and site preferences.

Your email address is used solely to send the Ask Rhode Island newsletter and important site updates. We never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Anonymous analytics data helps us understand which content is most useful and improve the site.

This site uses the following cookies: • Google Analytics (analytics): tracks page views, session duration, and traffic sources to help us improve content. Data is anonymized. • Google AdSense (advertising): serves personalized ads based on your interests and prior browsing. Newsletter subscriber emails are retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 2 years. Anonymous analytics data is retained per Google Analytics default settings (26 months). Search query logs are retained for 12 months for the purpose of improving search results.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request deletion of your personal data; opt out of personalized advertising; and withdraw consent at any time. AskRhodeIsland.com is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
