📅 Nursing License Renewal in Rhode Island

Rhode Island RN and LPN licenses must be renewed every two years. You must complete continuing education (CE) hours before renewal. Missing your deadline can result in license lapse — which means you cannot legally practice until it's reinstated.

  • RNs: 10 CE hours per renewal cycle (includes 2 hours pharmacology)
  • LPNs: 10 CE hours per renewal cycle
  • Renewal is completed online through the RICBN portal
